Shera Haliczer - President
Shera Haliczer is in her third term as a Director for A More Perfect Union. Born in Tampa, Florida, and a graduate of Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, and Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, she gained her extensive legal knowledge at one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, Carlton, Fields, Ward, Emmanuel, Smith & Cutler, P.A., as a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section. Shera relocated to New York in 1995 to spearhead the development of a Human Resources and Recruitment Consulting firm. After a successful career as a consultant, her lifelong commitment to community brought Shera to A More Perfect Union. Shera recalls from her earliest memories the dedication of her grandparents and parents to many causes and organizations. Throughout her adult life, Shera has been committed to community including participation in Hadassah and National Council of Jewish Women.
Marcia Gershon - Vice-President
Marcia Gershon is a founding member of A More Perfect Union. She has served as Treasurer and has been active in leadership roles in all fundraising activities for the organization. Marcia recently successfully changed careers from working in the garment industry to selling residential real estate with Bellmarc Realty in Manhattan . She spends her free time traveling to Europe and exploring the beauty of cooking and design.
Taniedra McFadden - Treasurer
Taniedra McFadden has been an active member since 2001 serving as a Board Member for most of that tenure. As Treasurer she will concentrate on the financial stability and fundraising efforts of the organization. She has also served as co-chair of the Operations committee and been involved in the Presence and Reputation committee. She currently works as a Senior Analyst in the Litigation and Business Valuation Group of Berdon LLP in New York City and is pursuing her Masters Degree in Public Administration. In her spare time she designs and creates beaded jewelry.
Jamie Allen Black - Secretary
Jamie Allen Black is a founding member of A More Perfect Union. Originally from Los Angeles, she is a performer whose work has been seen on stage and screen, and her voice can be heard in documentaries and commercials. In September 2003 Jamie was chosen to participate in the Hadassah Leadership Academy, which trains women to become leaders in their communities. Her culminating project was the Hadassah Film Forum, which she created with Shera Haliczer. She is currently the Manager of Special Events at Hadassah. Jamie lives in Manhattan with her husband, Robert, and children, Corey, Kyla, and Arielle.
