Dear Friends,
Women lost to addiction, homelessness and domestic abuse drain our communal resources. Their past behaviors leave them bereft of hope and lacking in support. The Circle of Women program gives these women practical and emotional tools to rejuvenate their lives, reunite their families, and reclaim their place as productive members of society. Individual change affects group change, which affects family change and creates strengthened communities. That benefits all of us.
We train women-at-risk to use goal-setting techniques to imagine their lives differently, and to create new lives for themselves and their families. We use the same principles to forward our organization's vision: a wide-reaching supportive network of women as the foundation for thriving communities.
Using our goal-setting principles, we are also transforming our organization. Current goals include expanding our program into additional facilities, deepening volunteer training opportunities, hiring an executive director and increasing the leverage of our Board of Directors - all to serve more women in more communities.
The work of A More Perfect Union makes a difference in the lives of women. I encourage you to participate in our work by supporting us with a generous donation.
Thank you in advance for your continued support,
Sarala Dee
President

Our Spring Benefit

On May 16, 2006, A More Perfect Union celebrated its 20th anniversary with a benefit and silent auction to honor the seven founding members of the organization. The event was held at Bliss Bar and Lounge on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. With more than 100 people in attendance, we raised just over $10,000 to support our program.
